Presented in Turin, the program of events that will characterize 2015 of Piedmont and its capital concurrently with EXPO 2015 global event and opportunity to revive the tourism activities in the country.
Turin is placed in 35 minutes by train from Milan, and is therefore ready to take a big slice of tourists from all over the world: the program of events presented by the Mayor Piero Fassino is rich and able to fulfill all expectations, and plans events related to food – theme EXPO 2015 -, culture, tourism and sport. To remember that Turin will be, throughout 2015, the European Capital of Sport, and will host major events such as the World League water polo in February, the World Cup women’s foil and the world sledge hockey in March, the World 24 Hours race in April, the World League volleyball in July and still basketball, table tennis, skating, cycling and much more.
In terms of culture and art, do not miss the grand opening of the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, in April, the exhibition of Roy Lichtenstein from October 2014 to February 2015, the collection George Kostakis “Russian Avant-garde” from September 2014 to February 2015 and a 2015 full of suggestions such as “from Poussin to Matisse” from October, Monet from March to June and “Kandinsky from July to October. Venaria Reale will be presented at the” Raphael and the Arts” and “The Garden of the King”, from June in September, while the Automobile Museum will host “Fashion Auto” from May to September.
The music will stage the Torino Jazz Festival, the Music Festival on June 21, the Great Italian Opera ‘700 and 800 in June and July and the traditional MITO Settembre Musica. For music’s most beloved young Kappa FuturFestival in July, the Festival of Music Young in August, the Speziale Festival in September, October and Movement ClubToClub in November.
The main theme of EXPO 2015 will be the food, and then nutrition, land, water, and the relationship of nature with man: Turin will host the “III World Forum for Local Economic Development” sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the “International Day of the City Bio”, promoting the production and organic farming. These two events will be joined by “leaven”, the white art in the foreground in March, “Ortinfestival” at Venaria Reale in late May, the “7th International Conference on strategic planning of food to the urban scale” and “Cioccolatò” historical appointment with chocolate in November.
Even spirituality presents events of enormous scope: the exposition of the Holy Shroud in the Cathedral of Turin from 19 April to 24 June, the bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco, the Salesian Jubilee – the world – and the visit of Pope Francis, probably during the ‘exposition of the Holy Shroud.
